Subject:DJ MIX Help Needed!

I'm trying to create a DJ mix using the ACID program and I'm having a lot of trouble. I just bought the software and I'm trying to adjust to it, so everything seems really confusing to me right now. Does anyone have any quick tips for putting together a mix (how to lace tracks together, use the mixer, etc.)? I'm also having a hard time trying to figure out how to match the beat of one track with another. If anyone can give me any info or advice, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Why don't you start by playing with the free 8 pack on acidplanet.com. That will help you get an idea of how acid works.

I make DJ mixes using Acid and it's all about Beatmapper. Once your file is beatmapped, everything will be pretty easy to sync up. If this isn't the case because the tempo drifts then, turn off snapping, zoom in, split the track right before the tempo problem and line up the tracks using snares as a reference.

I agree with Metronome--what he said about Beatmapper is the way you make mixes in Acid. Once you have the two songs lined up, you can then make a smooth blend for however long you want (32 beats, 64, etc). Do this by hitting the v key on each song to add a volume envelope. Fade one song out as your fading the new one in, and there you go--a perfectly blended mix.
