Are any of the following possible:

01) To record a new midi track without the box popping up asking you to make lots of selections.

02) Again with the midi, is it possible to loop a section and add to the existing midi track.

03) Is it possible to go in and edit the midi track, then start the loop playing again and continue to play the keyboard adding to the midi track.

I'm still getting to grips with this, so apologies if I've missed the boat here.

Cheers,

Monki.

Not that I know of. There are no selections needed after the first time you set it for MIDI. Just get in the habit of typing Ctrl-R and hitting enter to accept all the default.

No, there is no punch-in/punch-out capability. This is one of the things I asked for in ACID 5 but we’ll all have to wait and see if it makes it in.

No, there is no capability to add to a track by recording again after the first recording (that’s what I meant by punch-in/out). You can only add to it using the Piano Roll after its recorded.

No need to apologize; this is the place to ask questions. ACID is not primarily a MIDI sequencer although that’s how I use it and I see you are trying to use it. ACID is a loop composition tool that allows MIDI recording but its somewhat awkward at the moment.

I would recommend you get a copy of StolenTrack which is a free OPT plugin. With it you can record your punch-in on a separate track and then merge it with the original track! I find this very useful for building MIDI tracks that require several passes.

What you do is add StolenTrack to both tracks in the track editor. Then go to the one you want to merge into, and press Select Aliens and it will display all the other tracks that have StolenTrack on them. Just select the other MIDI track and press the Steal button and it will merge that track into the existing one. It’s quite easy and useful.

If you need help just post back here with questions.
