Disk ejecting when burning - matshita dvd-ram UJ-811 and Arch2.0a

Ok.. dvd architect looks pretty but unless it works with my dvd burner, this program is useless. I've upgraded to 2.0A and have the latest adaptec ASPI driver for XP (4.71.2) installed for the Matshita DVD-Ram that's on this toshiba satellite.

Any time i go to write a dvd, no matter what speed i select, the drive ejects seconds after initiating a burn session and i get the following error. Some of you seem to have been able to fix this.. then you turn up saying it doesn't work.. What's the final verdict??

'atapi'-(1)

It is a known problem, the fix will be included into the next update.

is there a possibility i could get a hotfix for this problem (if it has been addressed and resolved)? I have my project authored in DVD Architect and right now the only burner i have is this matshita. matshita? matshita. what were they THINKING when they named that company??

You can get an OEM version of Pioneers A07 which is the 107 for about 80 dollars. Works great. Just get one and finish your project.

Any idea when that update will happen? I'm in the process of deciding between DVDA and DVD Workshop. If this problem isn't fixed soon with DVDA, I will have no choice but to go with DVD Workshop.

As an update, I am very willing to use Nero to burn my prepared project until we get a fix, but I just want to make sure that the fix is going to be there before I plop down the money.

FWIW, I can burn the test project on a DVD-RW. I cannot burn it on a DVD-R.

Same error with my Panny LF-D521, but only when I have encoded the soundtrack as AC3...when I encode the sound as PCM, the disk burns under DVDA v1 fine (but slow). Uleads DVD Workshop v1 is a bit faster, and also recoginzes my RAM disk video(VR) file and imports it directly simply by changing the extender from *.vro to *.mpg. Handy , especially if you have any of the Panny DVD Recorder set top boxes, and archive to DVD-RAM disks...

cheers

Any idea when the update will be released? My clients would love to know when. You see, I have a matshita burner as well.

Found a work around that involves other burning methods. I still use Vegas 4 and DVDA v1b for editing and authoring. After preparing the DVD with DVDA, I open Shrink v3.2, Open File (Video_TS file created with DVDA), let Shrink do a full back up ( No Compression) to DVD Decrypter. DVD Decrypter then opens, and burns an ISO. Works perfectly for me, and I avoid having to use other DVD Image tools: some I've gotten to work, but most not AND I avoid using DVDA for burning the actual DVD, which it doesen't do well anyhow. All of you out there with Panny or LG drives may want to experiment with this method, if you're getting errors burning with DVDA...any version...
