I bought this years ago when it first came out, then it installed and worked fine. Now when i try and install it (on a different computer) i get a windows error right after the splash screen. "Acid.exe has generated and error and will be closed by windows"
I tried installing it, repairing it, and doing it again. It doesnt work!

Did you perhaps disable Terminal Services in Windows XP? Many Windows "tweaking" sites suggest that this be done, but it has an adverse affect on our software.

Go to MusicXP.Net and try to tweak your Windows Xp.

If you didn't tweak your XP, I have a different guess. I'm not sure this causes the error you see -- someone correct me if this is wrong.

Maybe it's trying to open the acd or acd-zip you were working on (the "Automatically open last project on startup" option is on by default), but the media has been corrupted somehow. A complete Uninstall/Reinstall should have corrected this -- that's why I'm saying that this is just a guess.

One way to fix it is to move the acd or acd-ziip to a different folder. Try to open ACID from the Start menu or desktop shortcut; it won't be able to find the project and therefore won't be trying to open corrupt media.
