Subject:Kx Driver Latency Issue...

Well, I've just installed the Kx Driver for my SBLive 5.1 (yeah it's kinda old now, but I'm broke!). Nevermind the nightmare of figuring out the mixer (esp. the DSP part), which I am starting to get the hang of, but I have noticed something that I can't figure out: Whenever I open an Acid project that I made before I upgraded my drivers, I get a really odd fast stuttering sound on all of the tracks... kind of that funky Aphex Twin-ish snare effect. I played with the latency and set it to the highest setting, and it helps, but then if I start a new project with the latency set to 5, everything is okay. I tried re-saving all of my wav's in 48000khz thinking this might be it, but it doesn't seem to help. I just played with it some more, and when I SOLO the wav's they are fine, it's only when they are played together, or if others are MUTED that they get that problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks everyone! -D |

the only thing i can think of is that your old ACID project file is not set to 48000 Hz. Changing this in the Project Properties might solve your problem. |

lol mindsore i feel your pain...the mixer is a bizarre scenario. the skins help but dont get updated with the releases so its all highly confusing. i dont have a solution but a q for the gurus - does the 48khz lock cause problems - i mean does it strain ACID to have to convert samples etc?i'm presuming it does it "on the fly"..sorry if this is a dumb question |
