Double-click on the little speaker icon in the lower right corner of the screen to open up the sound card's mixer control panel. Click Options / Properties / Recording / OK. You'll see a set of recording inputs. It's possible that the DVD sound is coming through CD Audio, Video, or Wave. Try choosing these one at a time until you get the right one. If none of these work then look for one labeled something like "What U Heart", "Mixed Output", "Stereo Output", or "PC Speaker". These will record anything you hear through the speakers. Unfortunately that means they'll also record the "you have mail" beep and similar things that may occur while the DVD is playing.

Of course, you can always just rip the sound full qual. off the DVD, but ya know, DeCSS is required, and that'd be, oh... who cares? There're plenty of good DVD ripping tools out there. They'll gladly pull all the audio, just some tracks, just some channels from some segments, etc. for ya, and with zero loss. I don't do DVD ripping in Windows, but it's easy enough.
