Subject:how to combine AC3 and Video?

Hi

I am new to DVD-A so apologies for asking a question which must be around for ages but i can't seem to find any answers:

1. I have rendered the video through V5 into the MPEG2 format (video only)

2. I have rendered the audio as a separate AC3 audio file.

SO - how do you get DVDA to combine these two together so the end result is a 5.1 encoded project?

Many thanks

This depends on what you mean by DVD-A.
If you mean DVD-Architect, then I have no idea. It should be covered in the Manual though. It is one of the fundamental things of DVD-V authoring, although for it to work you need a genuine Surround file. You do not say how you got this, so I assume that all is okay in that department.
If you mean DVD-Audio - which is what "DVD-A" , correctly, is - then you cannot.
DVD-A (DVD-Audio) does not use AC3/Dolby Digital files. It uses uncompressed PCM Audio, and no video.

If by DVDA you mean Architect, then as long as the MPG file and the AC3 file have the same name and live in the same directory, when you ull the MPEG file into DVDA it will include the AC3 automatically.

Then when you perpare the project, DVDA will automatically multiplex the video and audio streams for you into the resulting VOB files.

In my system I had to change the audio file link in object properties manually (I may not have named the file properly). It's no prob, just click on the menu item or object and go to the audio link and point it to your AC3 file
