DVDA 1.0 to DVDA 2.0 worth the upgrade?

Just search for "Burning Problems" or "DVD Drives" limited to DVD Architect and you will find enough issues even with DVDA 2.0!

Fantastic upgrade offers? You can't expect a non-profit ORG or Church to shell out $250.00 just to make the drive of a new system compatible, ridiculous. We as system integrators and hardware vendors have to stay compatible and sell the new Sony DWU18A in today's small margin markets. Everybody detects Sony's Sales Strategy - what years ago failed with BETA - at that price Sony will will sell the drive below cost and flush the market of possible competitors. And its Software Division has to come up with the difference and well timed upgrades.

So, just what exactly *is* the question, anyway?

If it's about problems with DVDA and DVD writers, you can always do what I do: use a different program to burn your DVDs. (I use Nero, but there are others out there as well.) Sure, it's nice to have burning capability within your authoring application for an all-in-one solution, but if it doesn't work, find a solution to the problem (something that far too many people these days either can't do or refuse to do). Besides which, a compatibility problem with a stand-alone app will usually be solved a lot faster than one with an authoring app (which can go months and months without an upgrade).

Bitch about the problem, or improvise. That's really the choice here. Everything has a solution if you look hard enough and are willing to accept the solutions you find.
