Heres the issue..I have a chain on the vocals going EQ - Desser - Compression - EQ...I then have bus A with Reverb on it. I set the track for Bus A, but am wondering if I need to bus the whole chain or what..once you bus in, does it ovverride the effects chain? Any help would be great, as I am still figuring out this whole bussing thing. |

the chain of effects you assigned to the vocals are so called "insert effects" , which means they are inserted between the original signal (input) and the output of the track- same goes for the fx you assign to the bus ( its effect is inserted between the bus' input(s) and the output(s)). so in a short sentence ,in your scenario the effects on the vocals will be carried along thru the bussing where the reverb will be applied to the fx-ed vocals . btw. not to be mixed with fx busses which work like "send effects" - you send a signal to/through an instance of an effect (here:the fx bus). |

Thanks, your answer makes sense..the reason I asked is because when I bussed in the reverb, I would uncheck different effects in the chain so I could hear how it sounded (w/out EQ..then w/out compression..etc) the issue there was that I didn't hear a difference at all..that was really wierd to me, so I wondered if the reverb was just overpowering or something..I thik I may end up taking my vocal chain and bussing it all, and using no inserts. |
