Just got my new SoundForge 7 today, but can't find out how to save a .wav file as .mp3. There's no option for it?? Version 6 and older had this, what am I overlooking here? B. |

There is no option on the SAVE AS list for .mp3, this is what I found very strange. If I try to open a .mp3 file, the program says unsupported format. What's wrong here, did I miss something during install? B. |

Did you register the MP3 pluggin? I know you have to register the module before you can begin to use it without any restriction. Bye, Kevin *** |

When you register, it's f-r-e-e for 20 encodes (unless they changed it for SF7, I can't get my boss to pay for an upgrade...), but fortunately, there're FREE encoders that are superior. Instead of paying $20 for the MP3 plug in, just get WinLAME or a BLADE frontend and you'll be in good shape. Much more control over funky options in WinLAME than in SF, and it's faster than a speeding uh...oh forget metaphors, it's just fast. |

Ummm, unless Sony's changed something the MP3 encoder has always been free (or included with the cost of SF), you just have to register it or you'll only get the 20? encode limit. That's Cakewalk that charges extra for the MP3 encoder. MJ |
