Good day everybody, I am using SF5.0f(I am cheap and can't upgrade yet), anyway, when I render a file in another program at 120bpm and then open it in SF and then set my Auto Regions to a measure, each region is now 119.999, the problem is when I move it into Acid the rhythms are not properly interpreted by the Tracks properties and as a result the loops don't play back very well at a slower tempo..I can hear a warbly attack. The only fix is to adjust each loops stretch properties and this is very time consuming. I am wondering is this a SF issue or is this an Acid issue and is there a solution? Even if I save the loops with a tempo of 119.999 as opposed to 120 they still get played back with undesired results. Thanks for any help, luceses

Are you setting acid properties in SF?

What other program are you using to render a file out?

Since time and tempo are related, it's important to be precise if you expect ACID to interpret them properly.

For example, a measure at 120 BPM should be exactly two seconds long. If it's longer or shorter than that by even a fraction of a second, ACID will timestretch to make it fit exactly within two seconds, which is probably causing the artifacting you're experiencing.

There are different ways of forcing a sample to fit, not the least which includes using Sound Forge's time stretch function.

I tried the time stretch function, but it does not seem to fix the accuracy. Might just be one of those things I have to deal with....luceses.

I should have noted (as I was in a rush) that extreme tempo changes are probably going to result in artifacting, especially when going to a slower tempo. You can minimize the damage (like you did with the stretch markers), but you probably won't get rid of it, at least not totally. That's just the nature of digital audio; it's so cold and precise that any attempt to muck with it can sound unnatural.
