Delay after menu transition?

I tried to make a transition between menus. So clicking a button on menu 1 started some media that played a visual transition to the next menu (say, menu 2). And then the end action for the media was to navigate to menu 2.

But there is a long pause between the end of the media and the navigate to the next menu. Long, like 3 or 4 seconds. The pause wouldn't be so bad, except that the screen goes black, destroying the transition illusion.
This is either while previewing in DVDA, or while playing the burned DVD in my computer (I don't have a set top DVD player to try out).

Is there any way to get rid of this?
There isn't any noticeable delay at the *beginning* of the transition, when it goes from menu to media... or at least it isn't noticeable because the screen doesn't go black!

Make sure the last frame of your transition media isn't black.

The length of a pause between different media also depends on the type of (desktop) player. Some of the latest models are considerably "faster" than players that are 2-3 years old. This also applies to how long it takes to call up a menu and do the navigating.

Whoa, thanks! That's it! Sort of. The last frame of my transition is not black, but DVDA added several seconds to it.

Why does it do that!!? It seems like any time I insert media, it makes it at least five seconds long. My transitions were only 2 seconds, so DVDA added 3 seconds of blank space at the end. Manually readjusting the out point fixes the problem.... that seems a little unnecessary.
