Subject:Broadcasting a CD burned in Sound Forge

Hi,
I have produced a track containing voice and a background music for my radio program. When it goes to air the only thing you can hear is a scratchy noise at a very low volume.
In my CD player and in the monitor at the radio studio it sounds fine, just as I want it.
The track is recorded at 16 bit depth and at 44,100Hz. I did use noice reduction, track compression, and acustic mirror on the voice. Then I mixed it with the background music. Finally I normalised the whole track.
What could be causing this problem? To add another part to this puzzle, I can hear it perfectly OK on my pocket FM radio set while I am broadcasting in the studio, but from home, or from my manager's home (different locations) you can only hear scratchy noise.
Can anybody help me with this one?

Thankfully,

Icaro.

...perhaps I'm missing something, but what does this have to do with Sound Forge? Isn't your pocket FM radio set and your managers FM radio recieving their signals from the same transmitter? If, in the middle of your broadcast, you swap some other CD for yours does your manager suddely hear the broacast?

Thanks for your reply Captn_spalding,
The point is that every CD I play is produced with Sound Forge 5. Every CD I play can be heard but this one. The other point is that I can hear it in my pocket FM radio in the station's studio but at my manager's home (1 k away)and at my home (about 30 k away) cannot, well, except for a scratchy sound.
In the studio monitor and in other CD players it can be heard as I want it to.
Any ideas?

Thanks.

The only advice I can offer is to listen to the source files on different monitors. large, small and in-between. Maybe your not hearing something on your playback system. that comes through like a MF on other systems.
Check the source files or recording first.

Or, try to burn in the Disc-at-Once mode.. Which is always a good idea, but still is not available in SF... (Hint)

Icaro,

Does it sound OK when played back in mono?

You need to reverse the phase of one side. The right and left sides are out of phase, canceling each other out.

Hi guys, Thanks for your replies.
I have listened my CD in various monitors and it is OK.
The CD is a composite of at least three parts in one track. An Intro, the body and the trail. All of them recorded and burned in the same computer. Only the trail is failing to go to air.
It plays in mono OK.
I have listened to the source, but I cannot hear any problem.
I will check the phase from left to right. Though It does not cancel itself on the monitor. It is only when it goes to air.
Thanks again.

Icaro.

Do you break for commercials during the playback of your recording? If so, do you hear these commercials without problems? Also, have you saved the files that you've written to CD in SF and burned them with another program? Nero has a trial version on their website that would allow you to do so if you don't have software.
