I recorded a vocal recently and started to trim it up a little bit, and I noticed the waveform looked a bit lopsided in the display. What I mean is, the waveform is shifted downward from center line. More of the waveform is below center than above, so when I normalize the WAV, the peaks below touch the edge of the graph window, but there is a sizeable gap on the upper edge. I would have to guess that this will interfere with any attempts to maximize or compress it. Why / how does this anomoly happen? How can the file be corrected? |

Check and correct the DC offset. If you don't have that option it may not be much of an issue. I've seen this with 0 DC offset and processed without audible problems. MJ |
