Is the recording working and just not playing back? (i.e., you see the waveform that has been recorded but hear no sound) or is nothing being recorded at all? When you bring up the audio record dialog, do the monitoring meters on the left register a signal? Are you sure your sound card is set to record from the input you are using to record from?

A bit more information on the steps you’ve already taken would be helpful in diagnosing what might have gone wrong. (e.g., what are you trying to record? How is it interfaced with your computer? etc.)

I'm just triying to record a loop inside of acid from an mp3 track.I want to loop like a 8 bar intro then go into the song and loop 8 more bars for an outro,But when I playback the recording I can't hear any audio.the signal meters seem to be getting a signal. What could be the promblem?

I wouldn't bother recording. Dump the MP3 file itself into the beat mapper or the chopper (if you have ACID Pro). Trim it to the section you want and paint it on the track. No need to record it.
