What I Love About 5.0

I'm happy...V5.0 is the best vegas ever (little bugs aside).
1. Drop dead easy editing/eq'ing for the simple home recordist like me.
2. Input monitor really works...consistently!
3. Auto input monitor really works, it's like the old days.
4. New envelope automation is slick as hell...a real time saver.
5. Pitch correction is a big plus.

I had been considering jumping ship to Sonar...glad I waited.

Way to go SoSoFo!

Much gratitude,
Pete

The thing I love about Vegas is I just get crap done. Easy and efficient.
Just finished an 18 song compilation of children's songs and a 20 minute DVD for a 6th grade promotion.
With a bit of help from Excalibur and SoundForge plus Acid and a touch of Autotune and a bunch of plugins, I got it all done in two months from start (except for the songwriting) to finish. Complex productions and arrangements in some spots up to 30 tracks.
How many crashes?
OK, I admit there was one but it was because I was opening and closing stuff at a pretty rapid rate.

It just works.

Well we just finished over 50 tracks in one day, pretty basic format conversion stuff, had to use a 3rd party app to cut the tapes into tracks but no big deal, then used Vegas to edit and rip to mp3. Not a single drama and I don't know what the guys who made the masters used but I hate anything where I can hear the compression pulling the noise floor up and down. Guess it doesn't matter for what it is, just it would have been drop dead easy to get it much better in something like Vegas.
