It's about that time again to do a format and re-install on my comp at work. Can someone tell me how to save my SF and ACID preferences so that I can put them back on after the re-install so that I don't have to set them again.

Thanks,

There's no standard pref backup mechanism in the apps themselves, but if you are familiar with regedit you can back up the "Metrics" subkeys below HKCU/Software/Sony Media Software/<app_name>/<app_version>/, save it off somewhere, and restore it once you reinstall. Don't mess with the other keys, as Metrics is the only one where this will (usually) work.

Note that this method is not officially documented or supported, so take all necessary precautions before importing.

You'll also want to use the Preset Manager to back up plug-in presets if you have a bunch of custom ones.

I've had bad experiences with Regedit. I'll stick with setting prefs again. Thanks!
