Anybody know of a good way to get rid of recorded files/ takes that aren't being used in a project. (so that you don't waste a lot of space on your disk). I am using acid 2.0.

I think he means automated removal.

This would be a great feature for Acid 5. If I record 10 takes and only use 1, Acid should detect this when I save a project and give me the option to keep or delete them.

i dunno if this possibility applies to acid 2 as well , but with acid pro 4 if i get the feeling there're too many recorded/unused files i simply create a new folder and save all stuff used within the project ( i think the option is called "save with all media") there , then make sure there aren't any used preset files or anything like that in the original folder and delete it afterwards.
fresh new project folder.

this is one of the little things that ACID should do automatically. of course it can be done manually (duh) but that's not the point. If you make 50 takes and use only 3, then ACID should have the option of automagically deleting the other 47 takes when saving or when you click a button or something.

of course, as it's unclear whether anything has changed at all in the MIDI department for ACID 5 because SonyFo is quiet to the point of annoyance, it's impossible to say if they even thought about little things like this. guess we'll have to wait for the release and see what's been done with ACID 5.

Isn't there a clean unused media function in Acid (like in Vegas)? And a copy media with project checkbox? If so, you can clean the unused media from the project then save the project to a new location with the copy media checkbox checked. This would create a new folder with the project and all of the media used in the project. Then just delete the old folder.
