Subject:ACID 2, "no RIFF header" no tune!! urgent

Please, please help.

Our pc crashed while saving our project as a wav.

When we tried to re-open the ACID 2.0 pro file the following message comes up, "An error occured while opening the file, the file is ost likely corrupted, or of an unknown format. A neccessary RIFF header is missing"

Has this ever happened to anybody?. Now the ACID file cannot be opened, the same error message, as above, just keeps popping up. We are devestated as we had worked for a few weeks on this particular tune, and it was sounding so good. Please let us know if there is anything you can advise.

you can email quantumleep@queeporganicmusic.com anytime. This is very urgent as we need this file for an upcoming project (v. soon !)

Is there a file size for the ACD file? If it's zero, it sounds like the project has been corrupted. I've heard this is because the hard drive did not properly write the file when your system crashed.

Are you using Windows XP? Do you have System Restore on? If so, try rolling back to before your system crashed.

Other than that, there's not much else you can do for the project. It's very important to always back up important projects. You never know when a disaster will strike (like now). The later versions of ACID from 3.0 on also have a crash recovery feature.

The file size says 110 kb, so there is something there, well looks like any way!

We do use windows xp, but dont think we have systme restore on. thanx for the advice if you think of anything else pls let us know :)

Hmm. If possible, try sending just the ACD project to me at iacobus@rodelworks.com. I'll let you know if I can just open the project. (ACID should tell me that it can't find the relevant media files, but I should still be able to load the project.)

Make sure you put something like "ACID 2.0 Project from QUANTUM" in the subject line. Otherwise, I might not catch it when filtering my email for spam. (And I get a lot of spam.)
