So I've gotten acquainted with using Soundfonts in ACID 4.0, but I hit a snag while recording with it. First I use the Chopper to create a loop out of the recording, then I use Chop to New Track to save it (as a .mid file). But when I paint the new track in, it comes up as the default piano sound once again. Should I use the piano roll editor or something like that to fix it, or is it just not possible to loop recorded midi in this fashion? Also, I'm recording with real-time midi enabled, if that makes any difference. For the moment, I'm not using any external sequencers, so I'm just going from the keyboard to the sound card and into ACID. Thanks |

When you record MIDI in ACID Pro, you're just recording what’s in the data stream from you keyboard. So ACID won’t be able to record the MIDI program number unless you send it in the stream by changing programs from your external keyboard. You need to manually insert that yourself if you want it from the start. Go to the List Editor and right click the event before where you want to add the program change and select Insert. From the Insert dialog select Patch as the Event Type and type the patch number in the Patch field. (of course you can modify the bank number as well) ~jr |
