Subject:Acid shuting machine off

I am laying down drums via audio into Acid. Because of latency issues, I switched from Microsoft Sound Mapper to ASIO as the audio device. It eliminated the problem I was having latency. But, it is shutting my machine down quite often...any ideas why? Thanks

what sound card do you have? I use a tascam us-428 ,I experience a few problems (including the one you mentioned)when I use asio drivers with acid,,,, asio doesn't work all that well with acid,, hopefully if and when sony updates acid, it will offer a more sophisticated approach to using asio drivers,,As a workaround I switch drivers,during projects,, Asio for lower latency and the default driver for more stability,,,
