In theory, it's possible to cancel a noise in a track of dialog by recording separately a track of just the noise, then inverting the noise track and adding it to the dialog track. Is such a thing possible in SF7 ? or will NR do it thru the dialog and not just the spaces? |

In theory, yes, if you record exactly the same noise, sample and bit-for-bit accurate. If the phasing is even slightly off you'll most likely increase the noise rather than decrease it. NoiseReduction does a pretty good job throughout the entire track as long as you can give it a sample of just the noise with nothing else. |

Noise Reduction wouldn't be worth much if it only worked during the silences. It's from the "silences" (during which you hear just the noise) that you get the information that NR needs, to deduct that from the rest of the track. |
