can i somehow turn this off? i need to be able to route my soundcard's outputs to my outboard mixer, and then back into the soundcard's inputs without creating a feedback loop. |

ACID does not have software input monitoring like Vegas does. All that is done by your audio hardware. Depending on your setup, it's possible. If you route your output to the mixer's "tape in" and go from "tape out" to your soundcard's input and use its "tape to control room" switch, you can listen to what's coming from your soundcard in addition to recording anything that's connected to the mixer's channel inserts via the tape out. It sounds like a Windows mixer panel or driver thing to me, rather than ACID. Re the above post, channel inserts are a way of applying effects to a channel. I think you meant channel inputs. To reword Lacobus' post, if you send your pc's out(s) to the desk on buss 1-2 or L-R, and whatever you want to record on buss 3-4 (which should be connected to your soundcard's line in), you should be able to hear everything thru your amp, whilst recording only buss 3-4. If your desk only has one stereo buss, you could return sounds to the pc using an aux send. Only real problem with that is many aux sends are mono. BFB |

Whoops! BFB's right; channel inputs, not inserts. Sorry about that. :) Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page Guitars 4 Kids |

ok thanks guys! i finally got it working! i've been trying to figure this out for some time now. what i did was hook the soundcards output into a stereo channel input. then i routed that to my sub 1-2 output, and my main output (which is connected to my monitors). then i sent the sub 1-2 out to my control room out, and that to my soundcard input. no feedback loop! |
