if A5 was rewire slave and IT DID NOT LOSE THE ABILITY TO USE DIRECT-X IN REWIRE MODE it would be the bomb.

A5 and reason rewired into cubase sx or protools would be sick.but if we lost dx support in rewire slave mode it would suck.

If you're slaving into Cubase SX why use DX in the slave(Acid) when you can use them and VST plugins in the master(Cubase). With Reason I understand, as the effects are limited. To answer the question you wouldn't lose the ability to use them in the slave.

because you would want them on the indivdual tracks.(do you really want to rewire 24 stero channels of acid in cubase just to put individual effects on the tracks)
when im done using cubase or protools for its better midi capabilities i would probably record any external midi sources as audio and than mixdown in A5.

I suppose I see, but I still think I'd use Cubase SX for VST effects, mainly because it's less CPU hungry. besides the way I work seems quite different than your approach. I arrange in either Reason or Acid mixdown and pretty much everything else in Cubase. Altho Lately I've been using Nuendo more and more.

Of course, those of us who use Sonar would love to see Acid as a rewire slave too!
