Subject:Waves C4 bug in all SF / Sony products?

Hello all,

Has anyone ever seen this bug before? With a C4 in your plugin chainer (any SF product) you press play, and the C4 mutes all four bands, and then *unmutes* each band one at a time as they pass the compression threshold for the first time...? Which is fine if your track / selection is full spectrum audio (say a rock song), but bad if the piece starts out only in one frequency range and then expands slowly.

The worst of this is: I cannot use the C4 in CDArchitect (where it would be supremely useful) because this gate / unmuting bug appears at the beginning of every track that you use the C4 on!

The workaround? I put a half second of pink noise at the beginning of every track to open the C4 properly, render the plugin chainer, then selete the pink noise. Not sexy, but it works.

*Please, if you know what I'm talking about, and / or have found a fix, let me know. *

(BTW I'm using the latest revs of all SF and waves apps.)

I've not seen this problem myself, though I rarely use the plugin chainer. Have you searched the tech support areas on the Sony and Waves sites? It may just be a bad installation. Try completely uninstalling both Sound Forge and your Waves plugins, then reinstall them. It's surprising how many problems this fixes.
