Subject:Problems with Acid Pro 4 and RME soundcard! :(

Hi!

I own the new RME soundcard DSP 9632. Acid Pro 4 seems to not like that card! :( When I choose the AISO driver in the setup, I can’t use any heavy VST instrument plug-ins or DirectX effect plug-ins because they suck all the power out of my card - even when I do simple recordings and editing, the performance lack. The card works fine in Logic Audio and Cubase SX, without any of these problems which I experience in Acid Pro 4.

My conclusion is that Acid Pro 4 doesn’t support this soundcard and/or it’s drivers. Does anyone have any suggestions? Will this problem be fixed in the future by Sony?

Regards,
d_tune

Hello d_tune,

If your card is working with Logic Audio (I presume you are using 5.0 on PC?) and Cubase it should also be working with ACID 4.0

We're looking at getting this card in house to test with as we do not have it currently. It is important to us that we work with the hardware in the market so we will be looking into this.

In the meantime, please consider contacting our tech support staff. Email support is free and they may be able to help you out.

Thanks,
Jenn

Hi, Jenn -

Have you heard back from Echo with regard to the Layla24 (and PureWave) working with Acid Pro 4x? My "freeze & fuzz" issue has yet to be resolved.

Thanks in advance,

Mike E. Dee

Was this isolated to the Layla24? I'm using Echo's MiaMIDI with PureWave in ACID Pro 4.0 without any apparent problems.

i also have the occasional problems with my RME 9652 (latest drivers).
The overall stability of ASIO playback is not like what i am used to with programs like Cubase SX2 and others ,especially start/stop and editing while playback is often very flakey.
Sometimes , if something disturbs playback , be it a erroneous plugin or an audio glitch and ACID has to shut down , it seems to "swallow" the RME's Asio drivers and i have to switch to MME drivers or restart the computer to get the Asio drivers back working .
I'm surprised it has never been tested with an RME card ...
I hope this will be already adressed in Version 4 .
