So I'm setting up Interruptor Analogic Delay (tape echo), along the lines of Roland RE-201 or RE-50. They're great plugins for that old tape echo feel, this particular plugin has various automatible parameters (feedback, groove, speed LFO,flutter rate, etc.) I want to first create an envelope for FX send input (send it in for one note) second automate the feedback. Now here's where the problems occur with Acid Automation. It's impossible, (which means automation is some what worthless), you see the cool thing about tape echo is the feedback, unlike digital delays the tape echo deteriorates into it self, (those that are familiar know) and the effect is absolutely different than DDL. All this just to say I know there is no work around. So I suppose this is to point out the value of a true sequencer like CubaseSX where doing exactly what I'm attempting works no problem. On the other hand Acid is far easier, faster, and precise, when dealing with envelopes. If anyone out there wants my undying adoration, gratitude, and a good portion of my money, develop a program that has the power and functionality, of Cubase SX, with the ease and looping qualities of Acid, and of course mixer and MIDI editor along the lines of Reason. Lastly make it a "slave" just in case I wanna use it inside another app...Level Vibes |

If you have a track routed to an Assignable FX bus in ACID, you can then automate the FX itself on the bus track for that FX bus. So, you can automate the "send" from a track on the particular note on the track, and then automate how the FX is processed on the Assignable FX Bus in ACID. If this isn't what you want, could you provide a more detailed discription of what you want? Peter |

blat blat blat blat .... .... .... .... blat blat blat blat .... .... .... .... blat blat .... .... blat blat. On any given blat I want to input tape echo. Easy enough. Here's the dilemma I want to control the feedback at the same time, even with the option you suggested which I'd already tried, the necessary options don't exist in the appropriate manner. Perhaps you could check the particular plugin yourself to fully see what I'm saying....Here' a link http://www.interruptor.ch/vst_overview.shtml I appreciate the assistance offered but after attempting to get this to working for approximately two months I throw in the towel. I'm able to get it done in Cubase SX...Level vibes |

Well, that doesn't explain to me what you want to do, so I guess I can't help. What necessary options are missing? Not a big Cubase user so I don't know what they do in handling FX that you want to mimic in ACID. Peter |

i think he is just not seeing the bus automation tracks. the send parameter is easy to find when right clicking a track but the others don't show up by default i don't think. but they are working fine if you enable 'show bus tracks' on the view menu. anyway, i use those plugs all the time and they are great!! they also work fine with acid 4 in my experience. my favorite is the bionic delay which seems to have a different approach to setting the delay times using the host tempo and a relative-change slider. anyway, for the original poster, step by step here's what you need to do: 1. assign a bus fx to the analog delay plug 2. in the upper right of the window above the fx press "fx automation" and select check boxes for feedback (and whatever else, you can automate any of the parameters, for me it's usually feedback and mix, maybe the filter) 3. press "u" to enable viewing the tracks for bus automation. (this is probably what you aren't seeing, it took me a while to figure out too, the manual sections on automating bus fx kind of assume you already have these visible but i don't think they are on by default.) it's also under "show bus tracks" on the "view" menu. 4. on those bus tracks you can click away to add points and adjust the envelopes for any of the parameters that you picked. that's it!! it's easy!. also, you can do a similar thing by using the fx as an insert for a track and just automate the fx by right clicking on the track and hititng the "fx automation" menu that drops down. i usually do it this way, but sometimes i like to do a big dubfade on a bunch of tracks so i'll pop a delay on a bus channel or even on the master bus and just bring it in for the whole track with a little envelope spike. anyway don't freak out it's easy to do what you are asking. press the "u" key and all will be clear!! |

I stand corrected. It does in deed do exactly what I was attempting. I had the show bus tracks button pushed but, I kept thinking I had to use a bus on the lines of a sub mix channel, add the EFX there and that was my mistake. So I thank both of you for helping this simpleton through, now get to work on my other request...Level Vibes |
