I just finished a big CD project and in the midst of it I tried FX automation but just didn't have the time to figure out how to overcome an annoyance. Maybe I overlooked something very simple?
When I went to automate FX, I could change EQ (for a children's chorus place in a verse that changed instrumentation) but after selecting all the parameters and making adjustments, I realized that everything FADED into the new effect over the whole course of the timeline. This is not what I had in mind, I wanted to make an instant EQ change and then back out for the verses. With so many parameters in the EQ, I didn't want to go through and mouse a 'point' onto every parameter in the timeline.
So how do you get an effect to just change instantly and then return?
I just didn't have time to figure it out in the midst of meeting a deadline for the recent mix.
