It's been stated many times that there are no plans of ever supporting the Mac. I'll note though that those statements were made back when SonicFoundry was at the helm. I don't know if SONY feels differently about it, but i wouldn't hold my breath waiting either.

I've got Acid Pro 4 running smoothly on an 866MHz P3, 256MB RAM. I can have dozens of tracks playing simultaneously with no problem. I realize it's not a top of the line dual processor and not a lot of memory by today's standards, but if it runs that smoothly on my computer it should be fine on anything bigger & faster.

That's what I was thinking. Acid on Mac is Soundtrack. It is creating quite a still too.

I dunno what your definition of smoothly is supposed to be... 'No Crashes Whatsoever'? ... well, that sounds good, but uh ... shouldn't we hold Mac software to that level of quality, then? (despite what the industry party line will indicate, I've seen ProTools crash *plenty*!)

I have Acid running smoothly on an Athlon 1.4 with 512MB! Now that 4.0f has eliminated the 'additional transient detection' crash bug, I can honestly say that I suspect 99% of crashes are caused by plugins! Whether hitting the system too hard, or just plain buggy, I don't know...

One thing worth mentioning though is that I almost never sync to other programs/devices. This could be the cause of crashes that others mention but I never see...

As for your original question -- I think Sony should hold out until Mr. MetaSynth stops being such a **** and ports to PC... :-P

AMD 2200 1GBRam. I only have issues when I go plugin/vsti crazy. But then I bounce to audio. I can have audio tracks forever, well let's say the amount of audio tracks has never been an issue.
