I have several now - and it's such a crap-shoot to spend $50 and end up finding that the disk isn't that useful, I figured I'd get some opinions.

Since I play bass & guitar (so i'll provide my own parts one these instruments), I'm looking for hip drums, keys and horns. I'm looking for beats from rock to funk (but not really hip-hop/DJ type funk - more old school shiz). I currently have DrumTools and the RADS cd. Any other suggestions? Does anyone out there have the Cakewalk Drum library and like it?

thanks

I just bought a 4 CD set of drum loops from BetaMonkeymusic.com and I’m really happy with them. If you're into Rock, these CD's have a lot of very useful and well-organized loops. All the kits are recorded dry so you can spice them up however you want.

I actually bought them from BetaMonkey on eBay. They sell them in collections that are $10 cheaper on eBay than on their web site and they average about $8 a CD! You can get single CD’s for $11. They have samples on their web site.

Drumsugar is worth a look. I use it.

If you're looking for keys (synth chords, piano & melodies), you might want to check out some of the libraries at our Hark Loops site. You can get a lot of demo loops on our info page. We're one of the sponsors of this summer's VASST tour, so you're pretty safe as far as the "crap shoot" factor : )

Just out of curiosity,do you use the RADS and Drum Tools very much? If not ,is there a reason? Do you like them and are just looking for new ideas or do you think they are limited somehow? luces

looking for new ideas, mostly. I know that, were I to take the time, I can put together pretty much anything I want with RADs -- but I use the drum tools more since I can 'get there quicker' - -

Mick Fleetwood's library is excellent if you don't want to "put things together." I have that, Drum Tolls & Drum Sugar and use Fleetwood more than any of the others.
