Can anyone please explain in simple form, how to include the time markers or signitures in your project when you burn to CD, as so to skip to next track |

I believe that ACID will only burn Track-at-Once (TAO) and not Disk-at-Once (DAO) so there is no notion of burning multiple tracks separated by markers. To burn just a portion of a project, create a loop region and select the Burn loop region only check box. You do this for each region and they will each become a separate track. Don’t forget to check Close disc when done burning for the last track so that the disk is finalized and can be player in a normal audio CD player. ~jr |

Thankyou JohnnyRoy for your prompt response... ....... the music is mixed, as you probably relize, so if i was to render the as say mp3 or wave and drop into nero and burn it as disc at once... will those markers or track changes become apparent.... .... i suppose i can experiment... (for the 5th disc burn already) lol... ... which now brings me to another Q. every time i insert a region the marker goes to the end of the project... do i then size it to fit.. eg.. region 1 - left marker at the begining of first song & the right marker at the end of first song.. and so on... the songs have been overlapped (mixed)... ..... thanks for your feedback & patience... .... cheers from the land downunder Australia... |

I doubt that Nero would honor any markers. It would see one big WAV file as just one track. BTW you do not want to render to MP3 if your final format is a CD. You want to render to a 44Khz WAV files. The easiest way to make a region is to drag and make a loop selection and then press the ‘R’ key. This will turn your selection into a region. Then drag to select the next song and press ‘R’ again, until you've selected and made all the songs regions. Save your project file. Now you only really have one option for burning and that’s Nero. If you use ACID, it will automatically add the normal 2 second gap between songs and if you have them mixed to flow into each other, you’re not going to want this. So here’s what you have to do: Double click the top of each region to highlight it as a loop. Then use File->Render as... and select a wav file and check Render loop region only. Then highlight the next region as a loop and repeat saving that. This will leave you with a wav file for each song. Now you can burn all these in Nero and tell Nero to leave zero (0) seconds between tracks so that your mix is preserved. Oh, and get a few CD-RW disks to experiment on. No need to waste CD-R’s. ;-) ~jr |

. Thanks again JohnnyRoy... .... its a consuming issue isn't it ?? ...... the funny thing is.. that the manual states "Regions can function as permanent time selections for playback" .. and editing purposes (pg74 acid 4) ... Oh I don't know... How does the "Dimitri from paris" and the like compilations, producers do it... surley they dont go through these primative steps to get time or track markers within a compilation that you already have placed the data in... wierd ???... i wonder what program they use ??... you would believe that Sonic Foundry products Acid & Soundforge would be superior to this type of producing needs... may have to look at buying another program... Q. is which one... I'm sick of going into the local electronic mega store and getting advice of junior staff that have no idea what they are selling you, and walking away with a product that may be good only to find that it does not do the whole thing... .... I'll keep trying... keep smiling :) |

Actually, under Working with Regions (page 76) the manual states that “Regions can function as permanent time selections for playback and editing purposes” It says nothing about creating CD’s with them. If you double click them they make an instant selection just as the manual states. I would use Vegas for mastering the CD. It will burn Disk-at-Once and allows you to place CD Track markers to mark where you want your tracks to start and end. You control the track gaps, etc. I tend to think of ACID as a song composition tool where I only work on one song at a time. Then render it to a wav file to perhaps master in Sound Forge or in Vegas to assemble a CD. No need to stray from the old Sonic Foundry (now Sony) tool set. ~jr |
