I know this is the wrong place but the CD Architect forum appears inactive and I know many of you use CDA. I'm trying to get verification that CD Architect 5.0a will work with a Sony CRX320 burner as USB. Should this not be a good choice (and I am a bit limited), it's not too late and I could go Scsi. I'd appreciate some advise here as the previous burner I tried did not work with CDA and it all seams a bit of a lottery. Thanks Weka |

I would suggest the Plextor Premium - either IDE or Firewire (IDE is obviously a better choice). From the research I've done on many forums, this is currently the most recommended burner for audio. I recently purchased one and its everything its touted to be. drbam |

Yes, and in terms of performance and operation, the Plextor bumers are usually highly rated in computer publications as well. |

The company I work for has tested many different burners before deciding that the Plextor is the burner to buy. They found that it created fewer CD coastes than any other brand of burner. |

I use a plextor CDRW 24X and a Plextor DVD R 8x, both yield 99%. |

I have a Plextor Plexwriter 24/10/40U, which is a USB burner and works fine with all the Sony apps. I've learned through experience, that Plextor is the way to go....but I did get a Pioneer DVDR burner. Seems ok, so far. |

It's a Pioneer DVR-A06U. I don't know what an "IOCTL" error is, so I would guess not, since I haven't seen it. I've burned CD's with Sound Forge, CD architect, and Vegas with this burner and haven't had any problems. I haven't really used it too many times though for burning CD's, because I have my Plextor SCSI drive on the same system and use this mostly for burning my CDR's. I've been using the Pioneer mostly for burning DVDrom backups and creating DVDroms with a ton of .MP3's on them to playback in my home entertainment system, giving me a virtual jukebox on one disc, mostly using Nero. So far I've been pretty happy with it's performance and haven't run into any problems. I'm hoping on getting into more video work to create more video DVD's with it and also DVD audio discs. Haven't tried any of that yet though. |
