Recommened cards and other questions -ACID Product Family

I'm currently using an old Event Darla, which seems problematic for recording. Is there anything folks might recommend that's more current and has better features for recording in particular? Also - Am I the only person who things many loops provided by Sonic Foundry are weak, particularly the bass loops? They often sound distorted or biased out... is it just me or my computer, or do these loops suck? thanks Harry

I buddy of mine who directs the Annenberg school for multimedia shiz tells me that sonic foundary loops are notorious for being marginal, but I want to hear from real users, not just a mac usin' high-finance buddy...

Many of Sony's (formerly Sonic Foundry's) loop libraries have garnered many great reviews, both from reviewers and users alike. (E.g., The Bill Laswell Collection.) It could be how I'm using the loops (copying them to hard disk rather than using the sample CDs) - but that seems unlikely...
