Subject:ACID PRO Midi Render problems

in ACID4, I cannot get the RENDER TO WAV working for midi tracks. The option only works when .wav files are in the tracklist, and if I solo the midi files, the option goes away.

If I render with them unsoloed, only the wav data gets rendered.

Anyone got an idea on this one?

thanks

How are your MIDI tracks producing sound? In order to render projects that contain MIDI tracks, MIDI tracks must be routed to DLS or VSTi soft synths. Tracks that are routed to external MIDI devices or your sound cards MIDI engine will not be included in the rendered file. If you’re using your sound cards MIDI sounds, you must route the output of your sound card back into ACID to record them as WAV’s.

The MIDI track must be routed to a softsynth - either the DLS synth provided in ACID or a VSTi that is set up and the track is correctly routed to.

This implies that a MIDI track routed to an external MIDI port/device cannot be rendered to a new wave track since there is no audio generated internally for ACID to "render".
