I have a Creative Sound Blaster Audiology Platinum 2 sound card and for some strange reason Acid Pro 4.0 is saying that the Device (SB Audigy) does not support the current sample rate or bit depth. I was wondering if there was something wrong with my sound card or if I just need to adjust something on Acid Pro 4.0 and how do I adjust it?

Try opening a project then go to File>Properties or press ALT+Enter. Now look under the audio tab and set the project's sample rate and bit depth in here. The Audigy should work with most common sample rates up to 96k/24bit. If the fault persists, try reinstalling ACID and your sound card driver.

The Creative Audigy only supports 48 kHz in hardware. Since ASIO is a direct hardware driver model, it only supports what the hardware physically supports.

Creative can claim any sample rate support because Windows will resample things on the fly to accomidate any sample rate. This of cource is a software based resample and is limited in quality. It also introduces synchronization issues between the input and output, and a -6dB pad on both the inputs and outputs.

So, using ASIO drivers with the Audigy is the best way to use the card, but only at 48 kHz, since this is the only sample rate that hardware really supports.

So the way to fix this once and for all, you need to bring up the project properties (Alt-Enter) and click on the Audio tab and select 48,000 from the Sample rate (Hz) dropdown box and then (and this is the important part) Check the checkbox at the bottom of the dialog that says Start all new projects with these settings and you will never be bothered by this again unless you open an old project that was set to 44Khz.
