Subject:How extend cut samples

I have samples that are cut at the end, mostly toms and cymbals.
I would like to extend the duration to have a more natural decay.

I have tried adding some reverb but I'm not satisfied with the results.

Instead, I plan to use the looping functions to choose a good "loop" of the sample, copy it as many times as needed to the end of the sound, and then apply a fade out to that new ending.

Where could I find a tutorial to do that ? Any help ?

All I can say is good luck... It's really not worth the effort. Reverb tends to sound bad on top end. Delay can help sustain things, sounds a bit unnatural, but tends to sound okay in the mix. If you really want to try extending it, I'd suggest copying the sample, reversing it, fading it out and crossfading it over the orginal, but like I said, good luck, it's probably not worth the effort, particularly since you can easily find replacement cymbal samples in less time.
