Can someone please decipher this and give me a clue ? Deadline is up and don't know what to tell the costomer ... this is bad...

Have gone through 7 blank DVD's that I'm sure were blank and sure were clean and the same brand I've used a million times before.

Thanks;

Ray,

Not a comforting thought but after I installed DVDA2 on my PC the Pioneer DVA07 did not exist anymore? I had to do a full install of XP Pro and all is back. Could be a million things however I would imagine a corrupt registry file, or similar. DVDA2 is having a few issues with me however early days yet and Sony do certainly take problems seriously.

Sorry for not having a magical fix for you...have a nice weekend.

Cheers

Perhaps try downloading new firmware for the Pioneer. Also do prep in DVDA2 and try burning using Nero or other burning software.

If you have System Restore enabled, I would use it to go back a few days to an earlier time, when things were working.

Though this is no comfort to you, all but one of my PCs have Sony DRU 510 nad DRX 510 1394/USB2 burners and I have not ahd a peck of trouble. THe one with the Plextor 708a will burn to a DVD+RW, period. My 2:00 AM rant is Plextors are not my favourite burners and I would not take one as a gift!

Got ahold of tech support, they gave me a link to do a firmware update on my DVD drive. Now I'm getting this error:

'SFMMCX'-(17)
'atapi'-(1)
-'PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104 1.41'-(1)
Module sfmmcx.cpp Line 1685

Almost the same but " hardware error " instead of " medium error ".

Am I the only user of DVDA getting anything like this ? Thusfar Tech Support has had no insight. The last thing I was told to try was updating my motherboard. As DVDA used to work until I upgraded to 2.0 I can't belive this is the problem. I had uninstalled DVDA 1 after getting the new version, but I just tried re-installing and am now getting the same error in that. My guess is whatever DVDA 2 file that botched that up replaced one of the files from the previous.

So ... no one else is having any problems ?

Yes, I was having problems burning in DVD2. I was only able to successfully burn to DVD+RW. DVD-R was not even seen, and burning to +R would create and burn the whole project and at the very end, in wiriting the leadout, would fail with a similar error to yours, but a NO SENSE error.

Write to support and be persistent. I was and now it's working for me again. I won't say any more than that.

ASUS Prime Z590-A Motherboard with Intel Core i7 11700 8 Core / 16 Thread 2.50GHZ, 64GB Crucial DDR4 3200( 4 x 16GB), nVidia GeForce GTX1650Super 4GB DDR5, SoundBlaster X AE5 soundcard, 3 x 4TB Samsung 860 EVO SATA 3 SSD, 2 x 8TB Samsung 870 QVO SATA 3 SSD, 1 x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro NVME PICE4 SSD, 2 X WD 4 TB NVME PCIE3 SSD, 2 X Viewsonic monitors, LG Blu-Ray writer. Windows 10 (latest build), currently using VMS17 Platinum.

I am experiencing this very problem with a Dell equiped NEC +RW/+R drive and was wondering if there has been any resolution to this problem. I am able to write the programs in +R just fine but +RW sessions deliver the "NO SENSE" error message and a blank disc. Please inform!

Thanks

Some drive related errors have been fixed in the latest update of DVDA, so please ensure you're using DVDA 2.0a build 121. DVDA 2.0a is available for download on this website.

The problem that I'm having writing +RW discs is with my version of DVDA 1.0d.
PeterWright wrote on 7/14/2004, 12:32 AM
Until the recent updated version, DVDA 1 and 2 would only find my burner (LiteOn 411S) if it contained a DVD+ disk. This is now fixed.

Ray, have you tried preparing with DVDA2 and burning the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders that this produces using other burning software (Nero, Record Now DX etc,,,)?

This was my previous workaround and worked perfectly.

DVDA 2.0 build 94 fails to burn leadout on LG/Hitachi GSA-4040 -/+/RW burner in IBM Intellistation M Pro machine at work. Have IBM's version of Sonic RecordNow as regular burning software. Dropped Audio_TS and Video_TS folders and it burned perfectly with leadin and leadout. Plays in all players to date.

Tried same test procedure on home system using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Basic to a Pioneer DVR-105: failed; merely copied the folders as a data disk, not a true DVD. Appears not to have leadin/leadout. Sony DVD player just skips it as if it's nothing.

DVDA 2.0 build 94 does burn the DVD successfully to the Pioneer 105 at home. That's why I was so surprised to have it fail at work.

Perhaps the 2.0a update will help. Awaiting info from tech support.

Er...yes, havin' quite a few probs with DVDA2.0a ,crashes, long boot ups, totally useless size indicator...but hey will get there. RE: errors when I installed my Liteon USB 2.0 writer with DVDA 2 it was completely useless , would only read +R discs and thats after spending an eternity to get XP to see it. Contacted tech support who sent through 2 new files(sfcd.cdd+ sfspti.dll) everything is fine now.
Might be worth a try!
