Hello there I've just installed the Vegas+DVD package, I know that the AC3 Encoder is included since I am able to encode to ac3. On the screenshots of the encoder in the sony.mediasoftware website it shows a picture of the AC-3 DVD Burning Utility, is this also included with Vegas+DVD? I don't see it as a shortcut or as a internal module in the program. If so, is there any way I can get to it. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks. |

As far as I know the AC-3 DVD Burning Utility is not available in Vegas but in Acid Pro. Although I have Vegas 5+DVDA the burning utility in Acid Pro tells me to download and install the 5.1 surround pack. I didn't install it again because I don't want to take the risc to overwrite the current files. Stany |

The dolby 5.1 surround pack is a plugin for Vegas I don't know about Acid Pro. when you install the plugin it also installs the "ac3 burner 1.0" which will burn ac3's to a DVD for DVD Audio I guess. I have never used it though. |

I don't see a download for a 5.1 plugin pack or anything that indicates the ability to create a DVD-A product. I was able to create a DVD with a surround audio track, but that's not the same. Steven |

The AC-3 DVD Burner 1.0 is part of the 5.1 Surround Plug-in, that coming with ACID Pro 4, you can install it from de CD (ACID 4.0) or you can download it from SONY website; you need just a valid serial number. After you install it, you going to see the AC-3 DVD Burner 1.0 as well. After the installation is available in Acid 4 on Tool>start AC-3 DVD Burner and just follow. In Vegas 5 is File>Render as>on the window write a name for the file>choose AC3 Format>Save, you going to have now the audio format in AC-3 and ready to burn it with AC-3 DVD Burner. Here you can check those links. http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/products/showproduct.asp?PID=772&FeatureID=6765 http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/products/showproduct.asp?PID=772&FeatureID=6773 http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/products/showproduct.asp?PID=772&FeatureID=6779 Good Luck!! |

DVD-Audio has nothing to do with AC3/Dolby Digital in any form whatsoever. It is a completely different format. DVD Architect can not now, nor will it ever, write a DVD-A disc. |

Johnbyte- since you have DVD Architect, there is no need for the burning utility. That utility let you burn a music compilation for DVD video discs (that was ALL it did); DVDA does this and much more. |

bit of confusion here.. Vegas comes with the plugin built in, u need to register it to have access for rendering.. basically, go to file, render as tehn follow the prompts You dont need acid or the standalone ac3 encoder one you unlock the ac3 encoding element, those config screens will be available to you. cheers P |
