ACID Pro 4.0f , VST Sync: First beat not played -ACID Product Family

Subject:ACID Pro 4.0f , VST Sync: First beat not played Posted by: plastique Date:5/13/2004 5:11:14 AM when using a vsti which syncs to the play/stop of acid , acid obviously ignores the first beat that is triggered. my environment: acid pro 4.0f , energyxt latest beta (with ext's sequencer set to external sync;syncing ability is fine),winxp pro sp1a, asio (rme 9652 , tested with different buffer settings and same result). any chance to have a look into this ?

A VSTi is ALWAYS driven by the host that is using it. hopefully this is going to be a better explanation: a vsti which syncs to the tempo and the start/stop events of the host (especially if it uses tempo synced effects which need to be started/stopped at a specific time , i.e. the song position of the host ) quote: What does this mean? Can you describe what you are doing and place this comment in some context? i am trying to play energyxt in acid (which is 'syncable to host') , while energyxt is loaded as a vsti with its sequencer prepared for syncing , which is called 'external sync' in ext. now that i turned this on , energyxt (rsp. the vsti) will recognize start/stop events and the song position and react 'in sync' if i press play or stop (in the host). now that i press start in acid , ext should (and does) respond and start to play as well - but not from the starting beat , but one beat later .... or in other words to be more precise : "ignoring the first beat" and starting its playback afterwards (the' ignoring' means that it doesnt output audio , the other notes following the first (or again in other words: initial) beat are played back well , and at the right time (relative to the song position)). to be able to 'hear' this initial beat played back is of major importance , that's why i am adressing this issue.
