Does DVDA have it's own MPEG2 encoder

I got asked the other day a question that I could not answer with cerainty. Does DVDA have it's own MPEG2 encoder. My guess is that it probably uses the one in Vegas or perhaps any other on your PC & unless you use Vegas there is no point having DVDA. Is this true or not & is the same thing true about the other codec's as well?

DVDA has it's own MPEG2 plugin. IF you use just Vegas, and attempt to use MPEG2 for the first time, you are asked to register the plugin. But, with DVDA installed, you can use MPEG2 without having to first register the MPEG2 plugin.

This would indicate to me that DVDA has the MPEG2 encoder as well. Besides that, in Acid Pro4, I can't use the MPEG plugin unless I also install DVDA1 (without Vegas4)
