...do you have to create one chain for the whole song or can you create one for each track?...I'm aware you can disable the fx you don't want to use, but my problem is that if I use a preset in one fx in a chain, it always defaults to untitled...I have to set up the preset for every patch in the chain when I start the song over...am i missing something?...how do i save the chain or chains for each track so i don't have to reset my presets...it recalls the fx or combination of in the chain, but not the presets...thanks...Joe |

The fact that both Chains and Presets show (Untitled) instead of the name that you selected is an unfortunate user interface design flaw. Hopefully this will get fixed some day (although it wasn't fixed in Vegas 5:( ). It is, in fact, remembering the settings, its just not remembering that you gave it a name. You might also want to use buses and route multiple tracks that will share a common FX chain to a bus, and then add the FX to the bus. This gives you less places to add things and gives you better control. So for example you could route all the percussion to a bus and then adjust the FX and the volume of the percussion from one place (at the bus). This is an especially important technique to use with ACID because it only allows one file per track. So grouping tracks into buses and then adding the FX at the bus should be your normal mode of operation. ~jr |
