I use Vegas4 and am at home sick, and for something to do I am learning SoundForge (and ACID - see similar post there). For what and by whom is this utility used in the real world? Thanks |

I use it extensively for recording and editing live performances. I'll take the stereo out of the mixer into my computer, record the entire performance in Sound Forge, slice it up into individual tracks, adjust EQ, compress, remove noise, add fades, remove garbage, etc. It's very much an indispensible part of my recording gear. |

Probably about 90% or more of audio professionals who use the PC format, use Sound Forge, Including commercial and project recording studios, radio, TV stations and production facilities.. My primary use of SF is music and educational program editing and mastering. I'm sorry you are sick. |

I used it extensively while working for an e-learning projects company - for recording the various dialogues for the course and later normalising/editing. Basically its good for anything audio-wise! :) I just love the "marking" abilities it has. compared to competition. |

I believe Geoff was saying, "Have a go at it to get an idea of what Sound Forge is about and its role relative to Vegas and ACID Pro." Or something. ;o) Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page Guitars 4 Kids |
