Heres the deal! I have been wanting to sample external sounds into Acid 4.0, is there any way to do this? Or can another software sampler be used in conjunction with acid 4.0? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

You want to record external sounds into Acid? You will need to have something like a portable mp3 player (IRiver, MPIO (which I have but haven't done this yet)) that has the capability to record wav files. Then you just copy them onto your PC and load them into Sound Forge or Acid and do your thing. You can't record directly into Acid unless you are using a microphone in your sound card. That's about the only options I know of.

You don't have to use a microphone to record with. You can use a line level source as well - such as a tape recorder. With a sound card that as digital i/o you can also transfer digital from devices that support spdif or the ADAT litepipe connection.

ACID supports VSTi and ReWire. There are many samplers available. Even the DLS synth provide with ACID can play samples. You have to convert the audio to a format that the sampler requires. Also, ACID can play any wave (and other audio files) directly from the time line. You can edit your raw material to make it a loop, or work with it as a one shot as well.

Lots of options here.
