Subject:Plug-in Manager/Chainer not working in 7.0

I just upgraded to Sound Forge 7.0. Now neither the Plug-in Chainer or the Plug-in Manager work. When I attempt to access either one, Sound Forge freezes.

Anyone else have a problem with the Plug-in Chainer or the Plug-in Manager?

Well, I've uninstalled and reinstalled Sound Forge 7.0 trying to get the plug-in manager to work like it does in version 6.0, but it's just not working.

I've also noticed that Sound Forge 7.0 isn't scanning for installed plug-ins like 6.0 did , and like Acid Pro & CD Architect still do. I've tried the FAQ help suggestion regarding forcing the application to rescan for all my DirectX plugins, but that doesn't work either.

I'm beginning to think upgrading was mistake. :(

The chainer no longer is working as it did in 6.0 as peter pointed out on one of the threads. Seemed to have something to do with other problems with it - he wan't very specific as to why.

Forge no longer scans for DX entries as it did, Though it does seem to pick them all up the same as vegas etc do still. But if a problem persists, I suggest remove the cache reg entrie for it. There are several posts about it in here. I'd say just search it. clear it and let it rescan on its own. or better yet - go back to 6 and wait till they straighten out the mess they've made of a once unified set of tools.

Thanks Spheris. I was on the phone with Sony technical support for over an hour today but was still unable to solve the problem. I'm back to 6.0 for now.
