Subject:Long AC3 render time in V5 - unless I use loop region

I have a 5 minute video. If I try to render it out AC3 - Stereo DVD, it crawls - saying it will take 45 minutes. If I select a loop region of the entire video, and do the same render with "Render loop region only" it's done in 1 minute. I checked the timeline and there is nothing past the end of the video. |

Wow, that's really strange. I was about to ask you to check beyond the end but you've covered that already. I hope you get the answer 'cause I'd really like to know why. Best/Tommy |

There are sometimes when I use modify the bitrate or the RF line mode that the AC-3 encode will take a day or two and yield and unusable .ac3 file. I usually watch the first 30 seconds of the encode and if things don't start picking up I kill it and try again. Sometimes choosing a different order of setting the options will fix the problem. In 4.0a-c (I recall) it was virtually impossible to change the options without this ultra-long encode to nothing. Now, in 4.0e, this happens to me about one out of every six encodes. Not too bad. At least I can get work out sometimes. |
