Subject:Help getting line in to record into Soundforge 6.0

When attemptiong to record realtime from my laptop which has stored music on it into my pc that has sound forge installed I am not seeing my line in source (music) registering on my record meters... nor is it recording. My speakers that are attached to the pc is playing the sound from the line in however Sound forge doesn't recognize. Does anyone know the solution?

It sounds to me like you need to enable the line in as the input device. Go to your windows mixer (down by the clock or start>progs>accessories>entertainment>vol control) then select Options>Properties and select "recording". Make sure that "Line In" is checked in the list below. Hit OK. The mixer now shows recording inputs and input volume faders. Select Line In, set your level and have fun recording!
