Network render re-install problem.. help

tjburton wrote on 4/23/2004, 9:33 PM
I have been playing with how my network render workflow will work best for me i.e. Do I edit on a slower maching and use a faster for my rendering or the other way around.

Anyway, now I am trying to install the full version on the machine I had the render only version installed on and the full version will not install. I've basically tried to uninstall the render only version and install the full version, but no go.... any ideas?

Thanks,
Tim

Has anyone else had problems installing the full version of V5 on a machine the previously had the render only version??

I have no idea how to install Vegas render only. Is it a separate download?

Thanks,

Brian

With the new network render option you can install up to 2 additional "render only" versions of Vegas 5 on other computers on your network. ITs an option when you install a registered copy of Vegas 5

Thanks, but it wasn't each time I installed V5. I guess it is because I already had V4 installed. I will find out when I try an install on a virgin machine.

OK. I just installed Vegas 5 demo onto a new machine and at no time did I get the option to install it as a render only workstation. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Brian

We have not been able to reproduce this problem with either version 5.0
(shipped on the CD) or 5.0a (the update download).

As far as you could tell, was it successful when you uninstalled
the render-only version?

Yes... as far as I could tell it did uninstall - the unistall app started and finished without any probklems. Are there any other manual processes I should check when I uninstall (i.e. check any registries?)
