Posts in this forum sure have been pretty sparce since the release of Vegas 5.0.

Could someone tell me how I can remove the vocals from a mixed .mp3 file I down loaded off the internet? It's URGENT that I find out how to do this. Oh yeah, also for some reason when I create a loop in Sound Forge and save it as an .mp3 file, Sound Forge keeps adding silence to the beginning and end. Has anyone else seen this?

:-)~

Dang, i was just wondering the same things, but was too shy to ask about them. I sure hope some of the smart folks in this forum can give us some answers.

I'll tell you if you tell me how I can mix my drum part with my guitar part with my bass part with my vocal part and how I can get rid of the gaps between my tracks when I burn my CD in Sound Forge.

I just baked a cake, can one of the ingredients be removed, I added too much sugar.
They can do stuff like that on CSI.

I video taped my friend's daughters wedding, but i used a cheap microphone and didn't notice that it had fallen on the floor and that I was dragging it around on a shag carpet and you can't hear all the funny things that Uncle Ernie said. How can I use Sound Forge to clean up the sound?

LOL

Hell, why won't any of these apps make the music for me? I'm a DJ, dammit, not a musician!

(My apologies to those who are DJ's in here.)

"Well, ACID CAN (sort of) make the music for you!"

Absolutely, I've heard all kinds of music being made when I've used ACID. :-)

And I've removed the vocals from numerous things while using acid ... not just songs.

I find the vocals move outside the music and more into my head.

When our vocalist was on acid, it removed some of the vocals... the others were just kinda garbled.

KroniK,

You can take all our joking around as the actual answer. It's about the only useful answer you can get to this question. It really can't be done in any manner that will result in anything usable. Once the vocals and music are mixed together, they're mixed permanently.

While ACID can "make the music for you," that's just scratching the surface. Imagine your own material with ACID. :o)

You see, I started the trend back up. No sooner did I put this post, but both the "remove vocal" and mp3 loop problem questions fall in close behind it. Actually Kronik I know how to do it, but I can't tell you. It's an inside industry secret and only a select few who are in V-RAP (Vocal Removal Alliance Project) know how to do it. And like Fight-Club, what happens in V-RAP stays in V-RAP. Must be the people you've seen do it are members of V-RAP. Good luck, sorry I can't help you any longer, I'm already pushing the envelope of having my life in jeopardy with this post.

There is a way to find out if the people you know who do this on a daily basis are a member of V-RAP. They won't be able to disclose this information to you, but all members of V-RAP are required to have a microchip implanted under the skin of their right buttock. This is a thought monitoring sensor, where if you even think about disclosing the information it will set off an alarm at V-RAP headquarters and V-RAP agents will be sent to you and have to terminate you along with anyone you've had contact with in the last 24 hours. So if you grab their right buttock while they're not paying attention, you should be able to feel the implanted microchip and know for sure if they're a member of V-RAP.

Good luck

Excuse me, Halle Barry, Um, I need to check to see if you V-RAP, this will only take a minute...

I worked out a whole song and practiced it real good on the little piano that comes with Sound Forge and my mouse. Then I tried to record my song but I can't touch the little piano with that record window in the way, what's wrong?

There is one technique that works reliably: Process->Mute. The unfortunate side effect of using this technique is that the music goes away too.

Someone suggested I try to highlight any vocal waveform then click "mute", but this took out the rest of the band as well...so I punched in and hummed the missing parts, but this sounded funny. Then someone else suggested I try "format C" prompt in dos, now nothing works. Any suggestions?? I got clients waiting...

Instead of formatting your local hard drive, try the network command "format \\human\brain". It's a little extreme, but at least you won't be worrying about the problem anymore.

Thanks for nothing guys. Followed all the advice here and successfully removed all the vocal from my wife's Celine CDs and now she is really p***ed. I can't get the damn things back and she's about to leave me over this.
So please, please, someone tell me how to put the vocals back.

P.S. Any idea what I might get for a collection of Celine Instrumental CDs on eBay?

"Can you help me to remove my mother-in-law from my life as well? Please?"

Follow Farss's direction. He successfully removed his wife from his life, which inturn will remove your mother-in-law. Unfortunately it's just like vocal removal, you can't effectively remove one without effecting the other.

This is the funnyest thread I've seen in a long time.

Espesially humming the parts back in.

Keep'em coming. Make this thread a sticky, mother Sony.

Simple really, I see it all the time.

The silent parts at the beginning and end of the mp3 used to be vocals. You accidently saved it while Chienworks' vocal remover plug-in was activated.
