Are any loops included in Acid Screenblast 4.0?

It comes with a sampling of loops to get you started but, IMHO, you really need to buy set of loops based on a style to get you started. There just isn’t enough of any one style in the samples to really be of great value. Still you can lay down some nice music beds with the default samples if you’re not too particular. There are more loops in Screenblast Acid Loop Expander Pack 1 or you can try any of the loop libraries from Sony which tend be more style based (rock, jazz, blues, hip hop, etc.).

I couldn't find a folder with the loops. Just the loops that are in the sample project when you open screenblast.

I don’t have Screenblast ACID but I do have ACID Music 3.0 (which is the same thing from Sonic Foundry) and on the CD is a directory off the root called Content with a subdirectory called loops which has 281MB in 38 directories containing 325 loops. Also under the main Product Information directory there is a subdirectory called Audio which has 42MB of samples from the various ACID Loop Libraries that are for sale.

I can’t imagine that Screenblast ACID wouldn’t have these but, as I said, my version of Sonic Foundry ACID Music 3.0 came with these loops.

There were 344MB of loops included on my Screenblast Acid CD ( 410 loop files), give or take a few, as I've accumulated so many now, I may have saved other loops in these folders.

Also, if you get Screenblast Acid, it comes with a 2 month trial period for complete access to screenblast.com, where you'll have a personal directory containing all of the downloadable loops from Screenblast. There are hundreds more you can download from there.

It's a pian in the neck, though, as you have to click each file individually to download it. There's no way to do a bulk download.

If you're serious about loop-based recording, there's no way around the fact that you have to either pay for loops or create your own. There are a lot of "free" loops out there, but they are 1) generally inferior and/or 2) on the hard drives of every other loop-based composer who is only interested in the "freebies" that are available out there.

I have purchased seven of the loop CD's from Sony. I even bought the 2 Loop expander packs for screenblast acid, which contain many of the loops offered on screenblast.com. They're also not very varied in their content, with mostly Hip Hop, R & B and dance loops.
