Hi, I'm new to acid, but I've messed around with Protools and Sound Forge before. My problem occurs after I render my project to an audio file, I hear this horrible buzz (I'm pretty sure it's not clipping) every so often. I'm getting this buzz mainly where there are breaks in the music. I have each audio track faded at the edges and have tried to figure it out. butI'm not sure why this buzz occurs. I'm sure it's a simple fix and I would love any help! Dmartinie |

What kind of file type is the rendered file? WAV or WMA, for example? Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page Guitars 4 Kids |

I tried .wav and .wma. The wav is the one giving me trouble. the wma works, sorry. so I just my question should be: is a 160 kbps wma file going to give me the same quality as a wav file? And can I burn wma files to an audio cd? I should probably know, but your thanks for your help |

i assume you don't get the buzz sounds while you are playing the ACID project? if so that's really odd. are you using any FX in the project, and if so have you tried rendering with them turned off? the fact that you don't hear this buzz in the wma file is weird, but could be contributed to the compression, since it might simply disregard those specific regions entirely. that said, a 160 kbps wma file is nowhere near as good a quality as a 44.100 Hz 16 bit wave file (CD standard). so i think it would be worth investing the time into trying to get this problem solved. of course i don't know what you are planning to do with your projects. i wouldn't send a bunch of wma quality trakcs out to labels though. ;) |

Ditto what ATP said. WMA (especially WMA 9) is pretty good, but WAV is lossless. It is odd that WAV gives you the buzzing but WMA does not. Could it be possible the WAV plug-in was corrupted/damaged somehow? Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling ACID? You can certainly burn WMA to CD, but again 16-bit/44.1 kHz WAV would be the way to go. HTH, Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page Guitars 4 Kids |
